Verses about Gratitude

They made for him what he willed of elevated chambers, statues, bowls like reservoirs, and stationary kettles. [Allah said], "Work, O family of David, in gratitude." And few of My servants are grateful.

But seek, through that which Allah has given you, the home of the Hereafter; but do not forget your share of the world. And do good as Allah has done good to you. And desire not corruption in the land. Indeed, Allah does not like corrupters.

Said one who had knowledge from the Scripture, "I will bring it to you before your glance returns to you." And when [Solomon] saw it placed before him, he said, "This is from the favor of my Lord to test me whether I will be grateful or ungrateful. And whoever is grateful - his gratitude is only for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever is ungrateful - then indeed, my Lord is Free of need and Generous."

And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, "My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small."

And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, 'If you are grateful, I will certainly give you more. But if you are ungrateful, indeed, My punishment is severe.'

It is He who made the earth subservient to you, so walk among its slopes and eat of His provision. And to Him is the resurrection.

And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you - when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers.

Then let mankind look at his food - How We poured down water in torrents.

It is He who made the earth subservient to you, so walk among its slopes and eat of His provision. And to Him is the resurrection.

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
