Surah Al-Zumar, Ayah 62
Reflection
This concise verse establishes two fundamental attributes of Allah: He is the Creator (Khaliq) of everything that exists, and He is the Disposer of affairs (Wakil) over everything. As Creator, Allah brought everything into existence from nothing and continues to sustain all creation. As Wakil, He manages, controls, and takes care of all affairs in the universe - nothing happens without His knowledge and permission. This combination means Allah is both the source of all existence and the ongoing manager of all that exists. This teaches that everything in existence depends entirely on Allah for both its creation and continued existence, that Allah actively manages all affairs rather than being a distant creator, that believers can trust Allah to handle their affairs since He manages everything, and that recognizing Allah as both Creator and Manager should lead to complete reliance on Him. This verse provides comfort that the One who created everything is also taking care of everything, including our personal concerns.
