فَإِذَا بَلَغْنَ أَجَلَهُنَّ فَأَمْسِكُوهُنَّ بِمَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ فَارِقُوهُنَّ بِمَعْرُوفٍ ۚ وَأَشْهِدُوا ذَوَي عَدْلٍ مِّنكُمْ وَأَقِيمُوا الشَّهَادَةَ لِلَّهِ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ يُوعَظُ بِهِ مَن كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ

— Surah At-Talaq, Ayah 2

So when they have [nearly] fulfilled their term, either retain them with kindness or release them with kindness. And bring to witness two just men from among you and establish the testimony for [the pleasure of] Allah. That is instructed to whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day.

پس جب وہ اپنی مدت پوری کر لیں تو انہیں نیکی کے ساتھ روک رکھو یا نیکی کے ساتھ رخصت کر دو۔ اور اپنے میں سے دو عادل شخصوں کو گواہ بناؤ اور اللہ کے لیے شہادت قائم کرو۔ یہ نصیحت ہے اس کے لیے جو اللہ اور یوم آخرت پر ایمان رکھتے ہیں۔
