Surah Ibrahim, Ayah 7

وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكُمْ لَئِنْ شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ وَلَئِنْ كَفَرْتُمْ إِنَّ عَذَابِي لَشَدِيدٌ
And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, “If you are grateful, I will surely increase you; but if you are ungrateful—indeed, My punishment is severe.”
اور جب تمہارے رب نے اعلان کیا کہ اگر تم شکر کرو گے تو میں تمہیں ضرور زیادہ دوں گا، اور اگر تم ناشکری کرو گے تو بے شک میرا عذاب سخت ہے۔

Explanation

Gratitude enlarges blessings while ingratitude invites deprivation and punishment. Shukr is shown by the heart’s recognition, the tongue’s praise, and the limbs’ obedience.

Context

Addressed to Bani Israel yet universally true; a spiritual law linking thankfulness with growth.
