Surah Al-Fajr, Ayah 27-30

August 29, 2025
[To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soul, Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him], And enter among My [righteous] servants, And enter My Paradise."

Reflection

These beautiful verses describe the welcome that awaits the righteous soul at death. The "reassured soul" (nafs mutma'inna) refers to the soul that has found peace through faith and righteous living. This soul is invited to return to Allah in a state of mutual satisfaction - pleased with Allah and pleasing to Allah. The invitation to "enter among My servants" indicates joining the company of the righteous, while "enter My Paradise" promises eternal bliss. These verses provide comfort about death for believers, showing it as a return to Allah rather than an end. They encourage living in a way that brings peace to the soul and pleasure to Allah, knowing that such a life leads to this beautiful welcome.

Context

These verses appear in Surah Al-Fajr (The Dawn), which discusses the fate of different types of people. They describe the beautiful end awaiting those who lived righteously.
