"O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it."

اے انسان! بے شک تو اپنے رب کی طرف محنت کرتے ہوئے جا رہا ہے اور اس سے ملاقات کرنے والا ہے۔

Explanation

This verse addresses all of humanity with a profound truth about the nature of human existence. Every person is constantly "laboring" (kadih) toward their Lord, meaning that all human actions and efforts are ultimately leading them toward their meeting with Allah. The word "kadh" implies strenuous effort and struggle, indicating that life itself is a form of spiritual labor. Whether people realize it or not, every action they take is part of their journey toward accountability before Allah. This verse gives meaning and direction to human effort, reminding people that their ultimate destination is a meeting with their Creator. It encourages conscious effort toward righteousness, knowing that all labor will be evaluated by Allah.

Context

This verse appears in Surah Al-Inshiqaq (The Splitting Open), which discusses the Day of Judgment. It reminds humans that their entire life is a journey toward meeting Allah.
