وَيُطْعِمُونَ الطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِ مِسْكِينًا وَيَتِيمًا وَأَسِيرًا ۝ إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ اللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَاءً وَلَا شُكُورًا

"And they give food in spite of love for it to the poor, the orphan, and the captive. [Saying], "We feed you only for the face of Allah. We wish not from you reward or gratitude.""

اور وہ کھانے کی محبت کے باوجود مسکین، یتیم، اور قیدی کو کھلاتے ہیں۔ (کہتے ہوئے) ہم تمہیں صرف اللہ کی رضا کے لیے کھلاتے ہیں، ہم تم سے نہ کوئی بدلہ چاہتے ہیں نہ شکریہ۔

Explanation

Man has been created free in this world and then he has been shown two paths leading respectively towards a life of gratitude and a life of ingratitude. Now, it is for the concerned person to choose either of the two paths. For one who adopts the way of ingratitude, there will be the punishment of Hell in the Hereafter, and for one who adopts the way of gratitude, there will be the bounties of Paradise.
