Surah Ad-Dahr (Al-Insan), Ayah 8-9
وَيُطْعِمُونَ الطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِ مِسْكِينًا وَيَتِيمًا وَأَسِيرًا إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ اللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَاءً وَلَا شُكُورًا
And they give food in spite of love for it to the poor, the orphan, and the captive. [Saying], "We feed you only for the face of Allah. We wish not from you reward or gratitude."
اور وہ کھانے کی محبت کے باوجود مسکین، یتیم، اور قیدی کو کھلاتے ہیں۔ (کہتے ہوئے) ہم تمہیں صرف اللہ کی رضا کے لیے کھلاتے ہیں، ہم تم سے نہ کوئی بدلہ چاہتے ہیں نہ شکریہ۔
Explanation
Selfless charity at its peak—feeding others despite personal need, seeking nothing but Allah's pleasure.
Context
Describes the righteous during Ramadan or times of fasting; their generosity earns Paradise.
