These verses address the fundamental question of life's purpose, rejecting the notion that human existence is meaningless or without accountability. The rhetorical question challenges those who live as if there's no purpose to life or consequences for their actions. Allah's attributes are then emphasized: He is exalted above any imperfection, the true Sovereign with absolute authority, the only deity worthy of worship, and Lord of the Noble Throne (symbolizing His supreme authority). The verses teach that human life has profound purpose and meaning, that accountability in the afterlife gives significance to our choices, that denying life's purpose leads to moral chaos, and that recognizing Allah's sovereignty provides the framework for meaningful existence. This provides comfort to believers that their lives matter and motivation to live purposefully, knowing they will return to Allah for judgment.
