Surah Al-Hujurat, Ayah 10

The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah that you may receive mercy.
مومن تو بھائی بھائی ہیں، پس اپنے بھائیوں کے درمیان صلح کراؤ، اور اللہ سے ڈرو تاکہ تم پر رحم کیا جائے۔
Surah Al-Hujurat Verse 10

Explanation

This verse establishes the fundamental principle of brotherhood among believers, transcending racial, tribal, and national boundaries. All believers are brothers and sisters in faith, creating a spiritual family bond. The verse then commands believers to actively work for reconciliation when conflicts arise between fellow believers. The mention of "fearing Allah" emphasizes that peacemaking should be done with consciousness of divine accountability, and the promise of mercy indicates that those who work for peace and reconciliation will receive Allah's mercy. This teaches that faith creates bonds stronger than blood relationships, that believers have a responsibility to mediate and resolve conflicts among fellow believers, that peacemaking is a religious duty that brings divine mercy, and that God-consciousness should guide all efforts at reconciliation. The verse promotes unity, conflict resolution, and active brotherhood among the Muslim community.

Context

This verse appears in Surah Al-Hujurat (The Rooms), which addresses various aspects of social ethics and community relations, establishing the principle of brotherhood among believers and the duty of reconciliation.
