Surah Al-Najm, Ayah 42-43
وَأَنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ الْمُنتَهَىٰ وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ أَضْحَكَ وَأَبْكَىٰ
And that to your Lord is the finality. And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep.
اور یہ کہ تیرے رب ہی کی طرف انتہا ہے۔ اور یہ کہ وہی ہنساتا ہے اور رلاتا ہے۔
Explanation
These verses establish two fundamental truths about Allah's sovereignty. First, "to your Lord is the finality" (ila rabbika al-muntaha) means that everything ultimately returns to Allah - all journeys end with Him, all authority rests with Him, and all final decisions are His. Second, "He makes laugh and weep" indicates that Allah controls the full spectrum of human emotions and experiences - joy and sorrow, happiness and grief, success and failure all come from Him. This teaches that Allah is the ultimate destination and authority for all existence, that all human experiences, both positive and negative, are under Allah's control, that recognizing Allah's control over our emotions helps us accept life's ups and downs, and that ultimate peace comes from knowing that everything returns to Allah. The verses encourage believers to maintain perspective during both happy and difficult times, knowing that Allah orchestrates all experiences and that everything ultimately leads back to Him.
Context
These verses appear in Surah Al-Najm (The Star), emphasizing Allah's complete control over human experiences and His position as the ultimate destination for all existence.
