Surah Al-Qamar, Ayah 17

وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
And We have certainly made the Quran easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?
اور ہم نے قرآن کو نصیحت کے لیے آسان کر دیا ہے، پس کیا کوئی نصیحت حاصل کرنے والا ہے؟
Surah Al-Qamar Verse 17

Explanation

This verse, repeated four times in Surah Al-Qamar, emphasizes that Allah has made the Quran accessible for remembrance, reflection, and learning. "Easy for remembrance" (yassarna lil-dhikr) means Allah has made it simple to memorize, understand, and derive lessons from, despite its profound depth. The rhetorical question "Is there any who will remember?" is both an invitation and a gentle challenge, encouraging people to engage with the Quran. This teaches that the Quran is designed to be accessible to all people regardless of their educational background, that Allah has removed barriers to understanding His guidance, that the Quran's ease of memorization is a divine gift, and that the responsibility lies with individuals to take advantage of this accessibility. The verse encourages believers to engage regularly with the Quran, knowing that Allah has made it easy for them to benefit from its guidance and wisdom.

Context

This verse appears in Surah Al-Qamar (The Moon), repeated after stories of previous nations, emphasizing that Allah has made the Quran easy to understand and learn from these historical lessons.
