وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ

This concise verse states the fundamental purpose of human and jinn existence: to worship Allah. The word "worship" (ya'budun) encompasses not just ritual acts but complete submission and service to Allah in all aspects of life. This includes recognizing Allah as the only deity worthy of worship, following His guidance, and living according to His commandments. The verse establishes that worship is not a favor humans do for Allah, but rather the very reason for their creation and existence. It gives profound meaning and direction to human life, indicating that true fulfillment comes through fulfilling this primary purpose. This verse serves as a reminder of life's ultimate goal and helps believers prioritize their activities and decisions.
